Rosemary Lane Nursery School has been very fortunate to work with S.A.F.C and their ‘In School’ coaching sessions. These have proven to be extremely popular with our children. Over the past two years, we have worked with Jason Hendry, a football coach with the S.A.F.C and our children look forward to sessions with motivation and enthusiasm.
Football coaching fun!

Not just a game!
Play is essential for children’s development, building their confidence as they learn to explore, finding ways to solve problems, having their own ideas and relate to others. Through being involved in the football coaching sessions, your children have the opportunity to have lots of fun whilst supporting their overall development.
These football coaching sessions also encourages your child to, ‘have a go’, to keep trying and recognise their achievements. They are encouraged ‘to think’ by making links in their play with their peers and team members. The warm up sequence and the games that are played, develop confidence through trying something new, working with their peers and helping to develop positive relationships.
Children’s coordination, spatial awareness and safety are supported by carefully planned fun and exciting activities and games. We develop children’s understanding of the effect that exercising has on their bodies, such as how fast their heart is beating, how hot they become and how fast they are breathing. Children’s listening skills are encouraged and developed as is their understanding of colour and mathematical skills.
Having the opportunity to work with professionals from the wider community helps children to become more involved. Sharing their experiences with their families when they go home develops their language and their place within their community. Who would have thought that all of this is achieved whilst having fun?
