Special Days

We often use “special days” to develop parents involvement in nursery. Parents are encouraged to share their favourite book with their child, write why they enjoy it and take a photograph for World Book Day. The feedback sheets are then used in the child’s Learning Journey book and in nursery displays.

Cuddle up with a Book Day

Photo 7To celebrate both World Book Day, and Mothers Day, we cuddled up with our favourite book. Mam’s, Grandma’s and Auntie’s were invited to join their children to share their child’s favourite book. Children and staff made cakes for the adults, as a thank you ,and a very “special time” was had by all. Children gave their Mum’s a special invitation to the “Cuddle Day” and the attendance was excellent, which led to a very “special day”. Each child received a new book, and bookmark as part of World Book celebrations.

Building Buddies Day

Photo 6

To celebrate Father’s Day we had a Building Buddies Day using reclaimed materials. Our Fathers, Grandfathers and Uncles were invited to come into nursery to spend some extra special time making models with their children. Our nursery children made special snacks for their grown ups and had a wonderful time being creative and using their imagination.

Everyone had a super time and made amazing models. Well done Building Buddies!
